Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Moon Rising Over Winter Landscape And Verdant Landscape: A Double-Sided Painting by Edward Willis Redfield for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,764.14). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Willis Redfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Road To The River in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 730,000.00 (€ 691,156.98).
