Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Ferry by Edward Williams was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2003. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,637.50 (€ 11,063.86) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Williams - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A river estuary with a windmill and cottages, boats in the foreground and cattle watering at the river edge, which sold at auction in December 2000 for GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,204.70).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.637,50 (€ 11.063,86) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Williams mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A river estuary with a windmill and cottages, boats in the foreground and cattle watering at the river edge beobachtet, die im Dezember 2000 für GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.204,70) versteigert wurde.
