Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Rogue's Yarn II by Edward Wadsworth was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,730.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Edward Wadsworth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Imaginary Harbour I in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 197,000.00 (€ 232,440.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Rogue's Yarn II von Edward Wadsworth wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.730,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Wadsworth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Imaginary Harbour I im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 197.000,00 (€ 232.440,63).
