Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A female saint, possibly St Bega of Cumbria by Edward Reginald Frampton was sold in the Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2018. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,109.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Reginald Frampton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Our Lady of Promise (La Madonna di Promessa) in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 173,000.00 (€ 202,265.07).
