Sold at the lower estimate price
In April 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Ship At Sea by Edward Moran. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 18,357.04) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Moran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,327,500.00 (€ 1,254,963.13).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ship At Sea von Edward Moran zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 18.357,04) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Moran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.327.500,00 (€ 1.254.963,13).
