Auction result misses estimated price range
In January this year a collector was able to acquire the work Lifting the Fish Pound, Orient Bay, Long Island, New York by Edward Moran for USD 75,600.00 (€ 69,626.08). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century American Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Moran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,327,500.00 (€ 1,254,963.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Lifting the Fish Pound, Orient Bay, Long Island, New York von Edward Moran für USD 75.600,00 (€ 69.626,08) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century American Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Moran erzielen.
