Sold at the lower estimate price
In January last year Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century American Art, which included the work Off Sandy Hook by Edward Moran. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,838.03) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Moran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,327,500.00 (€ 1,254,963.13).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Off Sandy Hook von Edward Moran zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.838,03) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Moran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.327.500,00 (€ 1.254.963,13).
