In January this year Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century American Art, which included the work Squally Weather off North Haven, Bay of Fundy by Edward Moran. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,160.00 (€ 18,566.96), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Moran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,327,500.00 (€ 1,254,963.13).

Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Squally Weather off North Haven, Bay of Fundy von Edward Moran zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 18.566,96) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Moran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.327.500,00 (€ 1.254.963,13).
