This artwork by Edward Moran achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. In the American Art auction, the work New York Bay sold for USD 87,500.00 (€ 71,022.73) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Moran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,327,500.00 (€ 1,254,963.13).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Moran erzielte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit New York Bay für USD 87.500,00 (€ 71.022,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Moran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.327.500,00 (€ 1.254.963,13).
