Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Off Atlantic Shore, Highlands by Edward Moran was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,277.55). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Moran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,327,500.00 (€ 1,254,963.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Off Atlantic Shore, Highlands von Edward Moran im April 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.277,55) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Moran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Commerce of Nations Rendering Homage to Liberty im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.327.500,00 (€ 1.254.963,13).
