Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work At the Beach by Edward Henry Potthast. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,157.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Henry Potthast achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Water's Fine in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,384,000.00 (€ 1,028,766.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit At the Beach von Edward Henry Potthast zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.157,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Henry Potthast erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Water's Fine im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.384.000,00 (€ 1.028.766,82).
