The »bidding war« ended at GBP 960.00 (€ 1,425.82), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Charles Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A gypsy encampment in a wooded landscape in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 15,535.00 (€ 23,120.73).

Die Arbeit Old Mills on the Thames von Edward Charles Williams wurde im Juli 2007 in der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 960,00 (€ 1.425,82) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Charles Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A gypsy encampment in a wooded landscape im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.535,00 (€ 23.120,73).
