Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figures beside a pool before a gate, a cottage beyond; and Another similar by Edward Charles Williams was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction at Christies in London in September 2007. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,377.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Charles Williams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A gypsy encampment in a wooded landscape in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 15,535.00 (€ 23,120.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Figures beside a pool before a gate, a cottage beyond; and Another similar von Edward Charles Williams wurde im September 2007 in der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 5.377,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Charles Williams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A gypsy encampment in a wooded landscape im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.535,00 (€ 23.120,73).
