The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,824.14) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Charles Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A gypsy encampment in a wooded landscape in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 15,535.00 (€ 23,120.73).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Holy island von Edward Charles Williams wurde im Juni 2010 in der Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.824,14) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Charles Williams erzielen.
