Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Anglers before a cottage, a horse and rider passing nearby; and Figures crossing a wooden bridge, a cottage in the distance by Edward Charles Williams was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2008. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,595.30). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Charles Williams - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A gypsy encampment in a wooded landscape, which sold at auction in June 2004 for GBP 15,535.00 (€ 23,120.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Anglers before a cottage, a horse and rider passing nearby; and Figures crossing a wooden bridge, a cottage in the distance von Edward Charles Williams wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.595,30) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Charles Williams mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A gypsy encampment in a wooded landscape beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für GBP 15.535,00 (€ 23.120,73) versteigert wurde.
