Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work A Village In The New Forest by Edward Charles Williams. The price achieved of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,612.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Charles Williams - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A gypsy encampment in a wooded landscape, which sold at auction in June 2004 for GBP 15,535.00 (€ 23,120.73).

Im März 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Village In The New Forest von Edward Charles Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.612,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Charles Williams mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A gypsy encampment in a wooded landscape beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für GBP 15.535,00 (€ 23.120,73) versteigert wurde.
