Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Cyder Feast by Edward Calvert was sold in the British Printmaking auction at Christies in London in April 2007. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,756.95), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Edward Calvert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Iasius, The Old Arcadian, Teaching The Mysteries Of Demeter in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,671.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Cyder Feast von Edward Calvert wurde im April 2007 in der Auktion British Printmaking bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.756,95) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Calvert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Iasius, The Old Arcadian, Teaching The Mysteries Of Demeter im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.671,54).
