It achieved a price of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,041.44), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Admittedly, works by Edward Calvert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Iasius, The Old Arcadian, Teaching The Mysteries Of Demeter in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,671.54).

Die Arbeit The Bride (Lister 8C) von Edward Calvert wurde im Februar 2019 in der Auktion The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.041,44) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Calvert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Iasius, The Old Arcadian, Teaching The Mysteries Of Demeter im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.671,54).
