This artwork by Edward Calvert achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2007. In the British Printmaking auction, the work The Bride sold for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,635.43) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Calvert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Iasius, The Old Arcadian, Teaching The Mysteries Of Demeter, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,671.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Calvert erzielte im April 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British Printmaking wurde die Arbeit The Bride für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.635,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Calvert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Iasius, The Old Arcadian, Teaching The Mysteries Of Demeter beobachtet, die im Juli 2014 für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.671,54) versteigert wurde.
