Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work At the Public Bar by Edward Ardizzone was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,408.00 (€ 1,642.71), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Edward Ardizzone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Saloon Bar at The Shirland in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,445.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit At the Public Bar von Edward Ardizzone wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.408,00 (€ 1.642,71) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Ardizzone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Saloon Bar at The Shirland im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.572,50 (€ 9.445,04).
