lithograph and woodcut in colours, 1895-1902, on cream wove paper, signed in pencil, a fine impression of this important subject, Woll’s variant V, the lithographic keystone printed in grey, the second stone in orange, the sawn woodblock in ochre, dark blue and green, probably printed by Lassally, Berlin, with wide margins, pale light-staining, paper losses at the sheet corners, otherwise in good condition

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Vampire II by Edvard Munch was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Christies in London in March 2018. The price achieved of GBP 296,750.00 (€ 337,866.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edvard Munch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Scream in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 119,922,500.00 (€ 96,993,286.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Vampire II von Edvard Munch wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 296.750,00 (€ 337.866,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edvard Munch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Scream im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 119.922.500,00 (€ 96.993.286,96).
