This artwork by Edvard Munch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in January this year. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work The Sick Child (Det syke barn) (W. 59.d, S. 60) sold for GBP 21,420.00 (€ 24,312.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edvard Munch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Scream in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 119,922,500.00 (€ 96,993,286.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edvard Munch erzielte im Januar diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wurde die Arbeit The Sick Child (Det syke barn) (W. 59.d, S. 60) für GBP 21.420,00 (€ 24.312,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edvard Munch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Scream im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 119.922.500,00 (€ 96.993.286,96).
