Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Fantasia by Edouard Verschaffelt was auctioned at Artcurial in May 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,950.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edouard Verschaffelt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scène Familiale in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 72,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Fantasia von Edouard Verschaffelt im Mai 2015 bei Artcurial versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.950,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edouard Verschaffelt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scène Familiale im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 72.250,00.
