A top price for Edouard Verschaffelt
When the work Scène Familiale by Edouard Verschaffelt was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in October 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 72,250.00. This high result makes Scène Familiale the most expensive artwork by Edouard Verschaffelt that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Edouard Verschaffelt
Als die Arbeit Scène Familiale von Edouard Verschaffelt im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 20.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 72.250,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Scène Familiale zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Edouard Verschaffelt, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
