Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Arc de Triomphe, Paris; Eglise de St Augustine; and Sainte Clotilde, Paris, from the album Vues de Paris et ses environs en photographies, 1851–1870 by Édouard-Denis Baldus was auctioned at Christies in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,623.10). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Édouard-Denis Baldus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chemin De Fer De Paris À Lyon Et À La Méditerranée', 1861 - 1863 in November 2014 with an auction result of EUR 47,100.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Arc de Triomphe, Paris; Eglise de St Augustine; and Sainte Clotilde, Paris, from the album Vues de Paris et ses environs en photographies, 1851–1870 von Édouard-Denis Baldus im Oktober 2021 bei Christies versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.623,10) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Édouard-Denis Baldus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chemin De Fer De Paris À Lyon Et À La Méditerranée', 1861 - 1863 im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 47.100,00.
