Auction result misses estimated price range
In February this year a collector was able to acquire the work L'Église de St. Trophime, Arles; and Saint Eustache by Édouard-Denis Baldus for USD 280.50 (€ 264.57). This price was achieved in the auction Discovery on Madison Online at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,200.00 – 2,700.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Édouard-Denis Baldus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chemin De Fer De Paris À Lyon Et À La Méditerranée', 1861 - 1863 in November 2014 with an auction result of EUR 47,100.00.

Im Februar diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit L'Église de St. Trophime, Arles; and Saint Eustache von Édouard-Denis Baldus für USD 280,50 (€ 264,57) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Discovery on Madison Online bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.200,00 – 2.700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Édouard-Denis Baldus erzielen.
