Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Across the valley by Edmund Morison Wimperis. The price achieved of GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,680.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund Morison Wimperis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Across the Moor, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,587.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Across the valley von Edmund Morison Wimperis zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.057,50 (€ 1.680,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Edmund Morison Wimperis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Across the Moor beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.587,56) versteigert wurde.
