Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shallow Bowl With Gilding From The 'Arcanum' Series, 2005 by Edmund de Waal was sold in the Made in Britain / Online auction at Sothebys in London in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,832.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund de Waal achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A short history of the shadow in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 118,750.00 (€ 137,741.48).
