Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pierrot by Edmund Blampied was sold in the Maritime Art auction at Christies in London in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,459.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund Blampied achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fording the stream in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 15,535.00 (€ 24,327.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pierrot von Edmund Blampied wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Maritime Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.459,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edmund Blampied erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fording the stream im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.535,00 (€ 24.327,01).
