It achieved a price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,751.10), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund Blampied achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fording the stream in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 15,535.00 (€ 24,327.01).

Die Arbeit The centenarian (illustrated); Marriage, births and deaths; and Madame Dupres von Edmund Blampied wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Maritime Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.751,10) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edmund Blampied erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fording the stream im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.535,00 (€ 24.327,01).
