The work The request by Edmund Blair Leighton was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2017. It achieved a price of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,106.54), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund Blair Leighton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work God Speed in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 707,750.00 (€ 1,121,870.87).

Die Arbeit The request von Edmund Blair Leighton kam im Juli 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.106,54) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edmund Blair Leighton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit God Speed im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 707.750,00 (€ 1.121.870,87).
