This artwork by Edmund Blair Leighton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2019. In the British Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Straying Thoughts sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,501.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund Blair Leighton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work God Speed in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 707,750.00 (€ 1,121,870.87).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Edmund Blair Leighton erzielte im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit Straying Thoughts für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.501,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edmund Blair Leighton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit God Speed im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 707.750,00 (€ 1.121.870,87).
