Auction result well in line with expectations
The work German The Oasis, Biskra by Edmund Berninger was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2008. The price achieved of GBP 14,900.00 (€ 18,953.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund Berninger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A View of the Bay of Sorrento, which sold at auction in October 2008 for USD 52,500.00 (€ 41,397.26).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 14.900,00 (€ 18.953,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Edmund Berninger mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A View of the Bay of Sorrento beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für USD 52.500,00 (€ 41.397,26) versteigert wurde.
