Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edgar Maxence could be acquired at Sothebys in Paris in October 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist and Modern Art auction, the work Meditation changed hands for EUR 15,000.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edgar Maxence have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L'Âme de la Source in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 125,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edgar Maxence konnte im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Paris für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art wechselte die Arbeit Meditation für EUR 15.000,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edgar Maxence auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit L'Âme de la Source im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 125.000,00.
