This artwork by Edgar Maxence achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in June 2018. In the Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle auction, the work Young Lady In Profile Reading sold for EUR 62,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Edgar Maxence; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot L'Âme de la Source sold at auction in June 2018 with the realized price of EUR 125,000.00.

In der Auktion Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle wurde die Arbeit Young Lady In Profile Reading für EUR 62.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Edgar Maxence; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit L'Âme de la Source im Juni 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 125.000,00.
