The work Portrait of Sarah Bernhardt by Edgar Maxence was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2018. The auction ended at the price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,899.31), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edgar Maxence achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Âme de la Source in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 125,000.00.

Die Arbeit Portrait of Sarah Bernhardt von Edgar Maxence kam im Dezember 2018 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.899,31) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edgar Maxence erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'Âme de la Source im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 125.000,00.
