In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation, which included the work Approaching Storm At Mymbyr Lakes, Capel Curig, Wales by Ebenezer Wake Cook. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,209.08) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Ebenezer Wake Cook have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Elaine in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).

Im November 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation durch, in der auch die Arbeit Approaching Storm At Mymbyr Lakes, Capel Curig, Wales von Ebenezer Wake Cook zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.209,08) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ebenezer Wake Cook auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Elaine im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.840,00 (€ 5.702,52).
