Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction The Ken and Rona Eastaugh Collection, which included the work Australian Waiting On The Stile And Saved From Drowning by Ebenezer Wake Cook. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 420.00 (€ 237.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ebenezer Wake Cook achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elaine in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).
