Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Under the Vines by Eastman Johnson. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,847.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eastman Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Little Soldier in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 856,000.00 (€ 693,173.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Under the Vines von Eastman Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.847,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eastman Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Little Soldier im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 856.000,00 (€ 693.173,54).
