Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Red painting by Douglas Portway. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,900.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Douglas Portway have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2007 the work Abstract was auctioned for GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,245.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Red painting von Douglas Portway zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.900,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Douglas Portway konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2007 die Arbeit Abstract für GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.245,92) versteigert.
