Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Douglas Portway could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Sleeping nude changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 729.62) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Douglas Portway achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,245.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Douglas Portway konnte im November 2011 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Sleeping nude für GBP 625,00 (€ 729,62) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Douglas Portway erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abstract im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.245,92).
