This artwork by Douglas Portway achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2011. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work On a bed sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,002.83) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Douglas Portway - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Abstract, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,245.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Douglas Portway erzielte im Mai 2011 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit On a bed für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.002,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Douglas Portway mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Abstract beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.245,92) versteigert wurde.
