Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2024 Bonhams in Skinner Boston held the auction Prints & Photographs, which included the work Church and Tree, Falmouth, Cape Cod by Dorothy Norman. The price achieved of USD 537.60 (€ 469.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothy Norman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clouds in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 7,170.00 (€ 7,964.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2024 führte Bonhams in Skinner Boston die Auktion Prints & Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Church and Tree, Falmouth, Cape Cod von Dorothy Norman zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 537,60 (€ 469,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothy Norman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Clouds im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.170,00 (€ 7.964,90).
