Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dawn Fiesta by Dorothy Brett was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,500.00 (€ 25,832.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dorothy Brett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Santo Domingo Corn Dance, 1959, which sold at auction in December 2021 for USD 69,062.50 (€ 61,020.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dawn Fiesta von Dorothy Brett kam im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 31.500,00 (€ 25.832,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
