In March this year Bonhams held the auction Pictures and Prints Online, which included the work The Road to Hurstbourne Tarrant; A study of cows 26 x 23cm (10 1/4 x 9 1/16in); 6.5 x 13.7cm (2 9/16 x 5 3/8in). by Dora Carrington. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 765.00 (€ 870.34), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dora Carrington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers In A Two-Handled Vase in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 59,750.00 (€ 85,950.05).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 765,00 (€ 870,34) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dora Carrington erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers In A Two-Handled Vase im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 59.750,00 (€ 85.950,05).
