This artwork by Dong Zuobin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy In Jiaguwen sold for HKD 93,750.00 (€ 10,715.49) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Dong Zuobin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Jiaguwen in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 525,000.00 (€ 60,674.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dong Zuobin erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Jiaguwen für HKD 93.750,00 (€ 10.715,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dong Zuobin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Jiaguwen im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 525.000,00 (€ 60.674,61).
