Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Boundless: Contemporary Art, which included the work Cycas Revoluta, Hilo Hawaii by Don Worth. The price achieved of HKD 10,000.00 (€ 1,194.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Don Worth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Aspen Tress, Autumn, New Mexico, which sold at auction in January 2024 for USD 3,328.00 (€ 2,908.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Boundless: Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cycas Revoluta, Hilo Hawaii von Don Worth zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 10.000,00 (€ 1.194,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Don Worth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Aspen Tress, Autumn, New Mexico beobachtet, die im Januar 2024 für USD 3.328,00 (€ 2.908,58) versteigert wurde.
