It achieved a price of GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,277.33), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 36%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Domenico Morelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A seated moor with a sword (recto); A nude woman (verso), which sold at auction in January 2019 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,639.25).

Die Arbeit L'abbraccio tondo 16.5 cm (6 1/2 in) diameter von Domenico Morelli wurde im November 2020 in der Auktion British and European Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.040,00 (€ 2.277,33) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 36%. Für andere Arbeiten von Domenico Morelli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A seated moor with a sword (recto); A nude woman (verso) beobachtet, die im Januar 2019 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.639,25) versteigert wurde.
