Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Incredulità di S. Tommaso by Domenico Morelli was auctioned at Il Ponte in June this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,400.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,300.00. Admittedly, works by Domenico Morelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A seated moor with a sword (recto); A nude woman (verso) in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,639.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Incredulità di S. Tommaso von Domenico Morelli im Juni diesen Jahres bei Il Ponte versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.400,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.300,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Domenico Morelli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A seated moor with a sword (recto); A nude woman (verso) im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.639,25).
