Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Christies held the auction 20th/21st Century: Evening Sale Including Thinking Italian, London, which included the work Sous la Chaussure (Under the Shoe) by Domenico Gnoli. The price achieved of GBP 2,182,500.00 (€ 2,585,673.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Domenico Gnoli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Black Hair, which sold at auction in February 2014 for GBP 7,026,500.00 (€ 8,524,835.22).
